Kaphera Cloud
The shortest framing of the platform: mission, purpose, and the past/present/future arc of how sovereign data sharing got affordable.
We are on a mission to make sovereign data sharing effortless: open infrastructure that any organisation can deploy, audit, and trust.
Our purpose is to close the gap between the regulatory mandates European organisations now face and the infrastructure that makes compliance operationally viable. Data sovereignty should not require months of engineering or a six-figure infrastructure budget to achieve.
- Before Kaphera: Connecting to a dataspace meant assembling a complex stack from scratch (identity, secrets, database, credentials), each piece a discipline in its own right. Skilled engineers spent weeks on a single deployment. Self-hosting the result costs upwards of €300 per month in cloud infrastructure alone, before a single line of application code is written. SMEs were excluded by cost alone.
- At GA (1 October 2026): Kaphera Cloud reaches general availability. Builders reach production in a day. SMEs participate at a price point that fits an operational budget. The MDS connector profile has been running on the predecessor platform (Krypton) since the soft launch earlier in 2026. The full operational stack is open source or source-available, adopted on merit, not lock-in.
- Long-term: Every organisation in the European supply chain can participate in the dataspaces their industries require, without infrastructure expertise or cost becoming a barrier. The platform grows with the network it enables.
The economics in one line: Kaphera’s managed plan costs less than the bare cloud bill you would pay to host the infrastructure yourself, before counting the engineering time to build and run it.
